Can Nest Cozy

Grab the ad-free PDF version of the Can Nest pattern in my Etsy shop or on Ravelry!

When I designed the Mug Nest Coaster pattern I loved it so much. I couldn’t help but make a matching can cozy too. The Can Nest pattern is designed using two different weights of yarn. Just like the Mug Nest Coaster. I hope you love making the Can Nest as much as I do!

Notes & Pattern:

The Can Nest pattern is worked in the round, starting with a magic ring. Then switches to rows when working the sides.

Ch 1 does not count as a st.

Bobble stitch:

*Yarn over, insert hook into stitch and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops on your hook rep * 3 more times. Now you should have 5 loops on your hook. Yarn over and pull through all
5 loops on your hook.

Front Loop Only (Flo)

Normally, you insert your hook under both the loops that make up that top V shape. To work in the front loop only, insert your hook under only the specified loop instead. The front loop will the bottom of the v shape, closest to you. (see Flo Rnd below)

Pattern w/Bulky 5 yarn:

Using 6.0 mm hook
Rnd 1: Make a magic ring, Sc 6, sl st to 1st sc, ch 1 (6 Sc)
Rnd 2: Inc in each st, sl st, ch 1 (12 Sc)
Rnd 3: *Inc, Sc rep from * around, sl st, ch 1 (18 Sc)
Rnd 4: *Inc, Sc 2 rep from * around, sl st, ch 1 (24 Sc)
Flo Rnd: Sc in the Flo in the same sp that you did your sl st, ch 1 in. Sc in the flo of each st around, sl st, ch (24 Sc)

SC in the Flo of each St
Finished Sc in Flo Rnd

Bobble Rnd : *Sc, bobble rep from * around, sl st, ch 1 (24 sts= 12 Sc, 12 bobbles)

Now you’ll start working the sides. They are worked in rows, not rnds. This helps keep the seam nice and even.
Rows 1-15: Sc 24, sl st, ch 1, turn
Fasten off, weave in ends.
